Matteo Rossetti

Matteo Rossetti is a Research Fellow in Latin Literature at the University of Rome La Sapienza (Department of Scienze dell’antichità), within the PRIN Project “PATHOS: PATHs Of the Soul. An Atlas of Ancient Emotions”. He has conducted research at the University of Verona, collaborating on the PRIN “Project Leopardi e l’Antico: un Archivio digitale”. He is also PI of the Project Letteratura tecnica greco-latina in età giulio-claudia: il caso della geografia (Avvio alla ricerca 2024) at the University of Rome La Sapienza. Since 2022, he has been teaching Latin Literature in the BA program in Cultural Heritage at the University of Milan. His main research interests include the study of emotions in the ancient world, Latin didactic poetry (with particular focus on Manilius and the Roman tradition of Aratean poetry), and the reception of antiquity in Giacomo Leopardi. He is the author of the monograph Manilio e il suo catalogo delle costellazioni: Astronomica 1, 255-455. Introduzione, testo e commento (Milano University Press, 2022).
